The Vagina Monologues

February 13, 14, 15, 2019  7pm in Blue Ridge Ballroom

The tradition continues into 2019 for the Women's Center to host Eve Ensler's play called The Vagina Monologues. This play is constructed of  various personal monologues read by diverse women to tell a story.

"An Obie Award-winning whirlwind tour of a forbidden zone, THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and a feminist happy to have found a man who "liked to look at it."

Tickets for the show go on sale February 6, 2019 in Plemmons Student Union and will also be sold at the door. Tickets are $10. Ten percent of proceeds go to the VDAY campaign which is a movement to end violence against women and girls. Ninety percent of proceeds go to OASIS which is a non-profit organization in Boone, NC that seeks to end domestic violence and sexual assault in Watauga and Avery counties.

T-shirts and treats will also be sold each night of the show.
