VAGINA MONOLOGUES THANK YOUS
Those that participated in the Vagina Monologues wrote thank you cards to the PSU staff for their help with the set up for the show.
FEMINIST COMING OUT DAY
Ladies working on FCOD announced the official date as April 16th and agreed to meet up after the Women's Center meeting to continue working on planning.
BREAKING THE SILENCE
Breaking the Silence is an event being put on by the Women's Center and Lips to raise awareness on sexual assault. A panel will be held onMarch 26th at 7 pm consisting of sexual assault and interpersonal violence survivors. Each member will tell their story and their will be time for audience questions at the end. Posters were passed out at the meeting and members agreed to hang them up around campus and help promote this event.
Proceeds for the Vagina Monologues totaled to about $5,500! There are extra t-shirts left over from the merchandise table and the group brainstormed ideas for what to do with the extras. It was decided to try and sell them during Feminist Coming Out Day and the upcoming art show.
Two guests came to the meeting to promote the Girl Rising documentary screening. The film discusses the importance of education for women and will be held on March 25th.
The Women's Center is in need of an SGA representative. It was voted upon to allow for an extra week for anyone else to step up if they wanted to represent the Women's Center. Maddie Majerus offered to be the representative if no one else offered to fulfill the position.
Members of the Women's Center agreed to meet at the rock wall in the SRC on Saturday at 11:30 am for a ladies climb event.
EQUALITY IN ACTION CONFERENCE
The Equality in Action Conference was promoted among members of the Women's Center. Registration closes next Friday and the cost to register is $20.
WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH
Votes were taken on what to do for the upcoming Women's History month. It was decided that the display case would be changed several times throughout the month to promote different influential women.
ENVIRONMENT IN THE WOMEN'S CENTER
A reminder was sent out to be mindful of the kinds of conversations that are had in the Women's Center. All members agreed to hold each other accountable and create a welcoming safe environment.
OASIS AND RED FLAG
OASIS and Red Flag organizations are in need of student volunteers.
