Please continue to ask your friends and professors to be chefs for Abigail Adams - also ask friends to attend with you! It's sure to be a great event and remember, we're hosting Ear Candy, Lyric, and Bhangra Dancers! FIND YOSEF A HOLIDAY
The Center decided against participating in Find Yosef a Holiday this year. Be sure to attend the event to support the other organizations it promotes!
ABAN (A Ban Against Neglect)
We expressed interest in hosting an ABAN fundraising party and will discuss dates and logistics later. Want to know more about ABAN? Check out the website here: http://www.aban.org/
HABITAT GINGERBREAD COMPETITION
November 8th from 6:30-9:30, Habitat for Humanity is holding a gingerbread house-making contest. You can assemble a team and compete as a group. COLORADO BAKE SALE
We only raised $36 at the bake sale this past Tuesday. Suggestions were made to raise more money like a Come Back Shack fundraiser, possibly the Monday or Tuesday before Thanksgiving. If you have any other ideas, contact Melanie or Lindsey.
Membership Chair: Needs hours! If you've volunteered at an event or done work for the Center outside of a normal desk shift, put a note in the desk shift sign-in book. Our membership chair will tally your hours for the semester. Once you reach 20 hours, you get a free Women's Center t-shirt!
Heath and Wellness: Cycle for the Cure - November 4th, can volunteer to man the info table; Zumbathon - November 20 5:30-8:30, bring canned goods to participate
Vagina Monologues: Audition flyers are printed and available in the Center. Please hang them where you can!
Social Chair: Group shopping day? Send ideas to Natalie Pierzga or Ryan Horne.
TUNNEL OF OPPRESSION
All those participating in Tunnel of Oppression must attend a mandatory rehearsal on November 3rd. This year's script is based on the theme of domestic violence. MY KIND OF WOMAN FASHION SHOW
The MKOW Fashion Show celebrates various types of women living in the Appalachian area. The Center voted yes to hosting a table and yes to volunteering a model for the show.
THERE WILL BE NO WOMEN'S CENTER MEETING THIS COMING THURSDAY FOR THE HALLOWEEN HOLIDAY.
A person came to speak about offering financial support for the talk; Adams is an author, scholar, and feminist. The Center said yes to donating $50 to the event.
