STUDENT GOVERNMENT

Voice your opinion! The Women's Center must bring up a new bill in SGA. What are you passionate about? Bring your ideas to next week's meeting.

MULTICULTURAL CENTER AWARDS

Nominations are due Monday, the 31st! Submit your suggestions for Best New Member, Most Dedicated, Best "Executive"/Senior Member, and Most Valuable to the Multicultural Center. Awards will be given out at the ceremony in the next few weeks!

POETRY SLAM

Lyric will present a slam poetry night May 2nd - they have asked the Women's Center to fund the travel of a world-renowend black feminist poet. Suzette and Melanie will talk and get back to them. It's the end of our budget year, so we've got a lot to spend!

APPALACHIAN PRIDE

ASU Pride will take place on Friday, April 11. Volunteers are needed to sit at tables and hang out at booths. Volunteers can sign up for an area of expertise (merchandise, lesbian issues, trans* issues, gay rights, etc.) and work anywhere from one to four hours during the day. Contact Jerry Yelton from the LGBT Center if you're interested in signing up.

WOMEN OF INFLUENCE

Nominations for this year's Women of Influence are due April 11th - get those nominations in!! The categories are: student, faculty, staff, and community member.

TRI-FILM FESTIVAL

The Women's Center would like to host a Women's Film Festival April 29 - May 1 featuring a different women's film each night. The event would take place in Whitewater Cafe, and the Center would be responsible for selling snacks and helping with advertising. Interested in helping out? April 3 - How do you ask?

Tell us how you ask for consent using whiteboards!

ALCOHOL AND DRUG REPRESENTATIVES

The last half of the meeting was spent with representatives from Appalachian's Student Conduct board. They talked with us about risk behaviors like binge drinking and asked us how we talk to people we suspect have a problem. Thanks for coming out and educating us!
